Georgia Burke
Georgia commenced practice as a lawyer with Ogilvie Jennings after studying at the University of Tasmania. Georgia is a passionate member of our family and criminal law teams.
Georgia can provide advice and representation in relation to all aspects of Family Law including parenting matters, child protection (child safety) matters, Hague Convention (child abduction) matters, property settlements, spousal maintenance, Financial Agreements, child support, surrogacy and divorce. In her criminal law practice, Georgia can provide advice and representation in relation to summary and indictable offence, restraint orders, Family violence orders, and restricted driver’s licences.
Georgia takes a solutions-focused approach to legal issues for both her legally aided and private fee paying clients. Georgia is an experienced negotiator and represents clients in alternative dispute resolution processes including mediations.
As a Litigator, Georgia regularly appears in the Magistrates Court of Tasmania, Supreme Court of Tasmania, Federal Court Circuit of Australia and Family Court of Australia
Outside of Ogilvie Jennings, Georgia is a member of the Australia Lawyers for Human Rights National Committee, the Family Law Practitioners Association of Tasmania and the Southern Young Lawyers Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania. Georgia is also a volunteer solicitor for the Hobart Community Legal Service.
